Contests and events will not be scheduled during legal federal and/or state holidays.

All contests and events shall not exceed two consecutive days in length, with the exception of  the NSSA Hawaii Regional Event.

There shall be no holding periods or alternate dates for surfing events.

Kewalo Basin Park ocean waters shall not be used as an alternate site.

All eight (8) permits will be issued and dates decided at the annual letting of permits meeting to be held at the beginning of the surfing season.  Each year a meeting date and location will be set by mutual agreement between the surfing contest organizers and the department.  No additional surfing contest permits will be issued for the rest of that year.
