Safety

While most people approach surfing class because they want to have a lot of fun,
quite a few 'students' sign up because of safety concerns.

Everyone is able to accomplish both in our programs.

Your health and wellbeing is of the greatest value, especially when you are on a vacation.

Consider that an ER visit can be $300 and more, with health insurance.  Surf, but surf responsibly.

Hawaii State Governor Linda Lingle urges visitors and residents to take a class:  Click here.

From our experience:

90 percent of people who try surfing for the first time without lessons, can't achieve the stand up ride.

50 percent get reef cuts on their feet, even in Waikiki.

99 percent of first time surfers who don't wear a rash guard to surf, get painful rashes on their stomach and/or nipples.

Water and Weather conditions

We recommend reserving lessons early in the morning and late in the afternoon to avoid excessive UV ray exposure.

UV rays in Hawaii and particularly on the water can be especially damaging (especially to children)

We believe in having fun in the sun, but also protecting ourselves so we do try to schedule our lessons early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
