Customer comments:"Thank you
so much for the teaser class which I had while in Honolulu.
Thank you especially for sending Casey. His calm disposition,
patience and clear instructions were appreciated; I like how he
asked for clear communication from me! More importantly, I felt
safe. I mentioned to you that I was not a strong swimmer; in
fact, I do have a bit of fear of the water. I guess it was
Casey's quiet confidence as an instructor that gave me
assurance, and it was not until I fell into the water that I
felt that bit of fear of the water. Still, it was a wonderful
experience. Brief, but wonderful.
I realize that by regular standards my experience was brief in
time, but profound in other ways. I realize now that my desire
to have a surfing lesson was not so much about surfing, but to
experience the ocean in an intimate way. When I returned to the
beach and watched the surfers at sunset, it was quite a
different experience; quite moving actually.
Thank you again. Mahalo.
Aloha!"

"I
chose the basic/teaser lesson because I had never surfed before and
just wanted to add that experience to my list of "Things I've Tried
in this Life." The fist section of the lesson covered basic
techniques on the surfboard in the sand, "how to fall off" and other
basic safety procedures. While in the water, for the second section
of the lesson, I was a bit frustrated waiting for so long on the
board, wanting to get out to where the bigger waves were breaking,
but our instructors must've had a reason for keeping us in the
shallow water. I was pleased that I was able to actually stand on
the board a few times--such a great emotional high!"
